FAQ

Noise, Dust, & Vibrations

    • Activities such as underground digging, operation of large machinery, and placement of pipe is expected to cause significant noise in the area.

    • To minimize noise impacts, construction operations will only be conducted during the day (between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.).

  • The project team has created a dust mitigation plan that is routinely reevaluated and adjusted as the project progresses. Feedback from residents has helped to shape the current watering schedule. For concerns about dust mitigation, please contact a project team representative.

  • During construction, activities like excavation, compaction, or heavy equipment can cause ground vibrations. To make sure these vibrations remain within a safe threshold for nearby homes and structures, our project team has placed vibration monitors (also called seismographs) throughout the neighborhood.

    • Vibration monitors are highly sensitive instruments that measure how the ground moves during construction. They measure ground movement in three directions (up/down, side-to-side, and forward/back) and record the vibrations. The measurement used is called Peak Particle Velocity (PPV), which tells engineers how fast the ground is moving. PPV is the industry-standard way to evaluate whether vibrations could cause damage.

    • Vibration monitors operate 24/7 during active construction. If vibrations approach a preset safety threshold, the system automatically alerts the applicable members of the team.

    • Please see our Seismograph Infographic for more information.

Access Impacts & Shuttle Service

  • To maintain consistent access, residents should utilize the temporary parking lot and complimentary shuttle service during the closures.

  • Please see our Shuttle Service Handout for information on accessing this service.

Mail, Package or Maintenance Service Interruptions

  • The project team is coordinating closely with USPS and other delivery services to encourage mail delivery on time. However, in the event you are experiencing delays, our team has created helpful resource documents that provide suggestions to ensure uninterrupted delivery.

  • Unfortunately, some residents will have prolonged driveway closures that will make it not possible for home maintenance services to access their property directly. These services should utilize the temporary parking lot and shuttle service to access client homes during this time.
