Alpine Aqueduct Reach 1
Replacement and Resiliency Project

Estimate Pipe Installation & Driveway Closures

As early as Monday, June 1, an additional construction crew will begin pipe installation on a different section of the aqueduct along 1060 North near 1450 East (see map below). With two crews working simultaneously, installation will move more quickly and accelerate the overall construction schedule.

As crews complete the installation of each section of aqueduct, they will fill the trench, then move the closure east along 1060 North to place the next section of pipe. Full driveway closures and parking restrictions are necessary as crews install the aqueduct in front of homes. Impacted residents will be contacted directly

This map shows a tentative timeline for pipe installation and driveway closures. Closure information will be updated regularly as work progresses.

Reminder: This map shows an approximate closure area. The closure will shift as work progresses.

Park Strip Landscaping

To accommodate aqueduct installation, crews may have removed landscaping and impacted sprinkler systems within the park strips. Residents should not turn on the sprinklers or make any additional improvements to the park strips. The park strips will remain unfinished throughout the summer to allow crews to complete aqueduct installation and minimize additional impacts. Additional watering can lead to flooding the construction zone and cause delays.

All landscaping (sod, sprinklers, and trees) will be restored by the project team in fall 2026. Any park strip improvements made before this time will be impacted by construction. If you believe other areas of your sprinkler system have been damaged by the construction work, please call the project hotline, and a project team member will address your concerns.

Vehicle Usage on Sidewalks

Due to the hazards associated with operating personal golf carts or other compact vehicles in an active construction zone, the use of these vehicles in the work zone is strongly discouraged. Residents should utilize the on-demand shuttle service to travel through the area. Shuttle drivers are safety-certified and specifically trained to operate within the construction zone.

Individuals who choose to operate personal golf carts or compact vehicles within the construction zone do so at their own risk.

Sewer Line Relocation

Crews are currently relocating a sewer line along Somerset Drive between 1120 North and 1060 North. During work hours (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.), residents may experience driveway access delays of up to 15 minutes. If you have questions or need access assistance, please speak directly with onsite crews or contact our project hotline.

To relocate this sewer line, crews first needed to install the aqueduct along this segment of road. The temporary trench supports required for utility work last summer occupied the same area as this future sewer line. Now that the previous utility work and aqueduct installation is complete in the section, crews can proceed with the sewer line relocation.

This work is expected to last through the end of May.*

*Construction schedules are based on a variety of factors and subject to change.

Parking & Vehicle Restrictions

The following restrictions will be in place throughout construction:

  • No street parking along 1060 North and portions of Somerset Drive (1360 East) and 1560 East.

  • Full driveway closures along the aqueduct alignment lasting up to three weeks.

  • Driveway access will be unavailable at all times during this closure, including evenings and overnight.

  • Additional temporary driveway closures during work hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.)

Residents will be notified of prolonged driveway closures at least one week in advance. During these closures, residents are encouraged to use the temporary parking lot to maintain reliable access to and from the neighborhood.

Trail Access

For your safety, the trails in this area have been temporarily rerouted to accommodate construction activities for the Alpine Aqueduct Reach 1 project. Please use the updated route shown on the map below and stay alert for construction vehicles and equipment crossing or operating near the trail.

Mailbox Impacts

As part of this project, crews removed mailboxes that inhibited construction activities along 1060 North. The project team has made every effort to carefully remove and preserve each mailbox; however, some damage is expected due to the nature of the work.

  • Mailboxes will be stored off-site until late 2026, when they will be reinstalled as part of the neighborhood and park strip restoration.

  • Before reinstallation in late 2026, the project team will coordinate directly with each homeowner to determine the most appropriate replacement or restoration plan based on the condition of the original mailbox. If a mailbox is damaged beyond repair during removal, our team will provide any salvaged pieces upon request.
